Bullett2007 Eastern Regional Wetland Restoration Institute - Final Report

The Eastern Regional Wetland Restoration Institute is a hands-on program of instruction taught by a team of experts who want you to acquire the skills necessary to begin building wetlands in your community. The event is held in eastern Kentucky at Olympia Springs on the Daniel Boone National Forest.

The training is designed for individuals that work for government agencies, nonprofit organizations and consulting companies who have a strong interest in learning more about highly effective construction and management practices for ecosystem restoration. The high number of instructors provides an ideal setting where students can talk one-on-one with specialists to learn more about wetlands and how to develop successful restoration programs. Participants will travel outdoors each day to examine all facets of wetland management, from identifying wetlands and streams altered hundreds of years ago to participating in actual wetland restoration projects.

The institute is presented by the Center for Excellence in Wetland and Stream Restoration in partnership with the following organizations:
  • Eastern Kentucky PRIDE
  • US Forest Service San Dimas Technology and Development Center
  • University of Kentucky Tracy Farmer Center for the Environment
