The seventh annual Envi Awards were presented at the PRIDE 10th Anniversary Celebration and Envi Awards Ceremony, which was held Aug. 28, 2007, at the Forum in
Hazard, Kentucky.
Neil Middleton, Vice President of News at
WYMT-TV, was the master of ceremonies. The entertainers were the
Big Sandy Singers and Alison Lovely, Miss Redbud Trail 2007. Award presenters were:
- Cynthia Rogers, First Lady of Kentucky’s Fifth Congressional District
- Darrell Ishmael, Former PRIDE Executive Director, Current East Kentucky Power Cooperative Community & Business Development Manager
- Jeff Speaks, Former PRIDE Executive Director, Current McCarthy & Speaks Strategic Solutions Partner
- Geraldine, Courtney and Cameron Turner, family members of the late Tony Turner
- Congressman Hal Rogers (KY-5), PRIDE Co-Founder
- Shirley Bickford, wife of PRIDE Co-Founder, the late James E. Bickford
- Governor Ernie Fletcher, Commonwealth of Kentucky
Elementary School Campus of the Year Award
Finalists:
- Manchester Elementary (Clay County)
- Saint Camillus Academy (Knox County)
- Southside Elementary (Lee County)
Winner: Southside Elementary School, for providing hands-on learning opportunities with a greenhouses, wetland, wildlife habitat, recycling, campus cleanups and PRIDE Club

Middle School Campus of the Year Award
Finalists:
- North Laurel Middle (Laurel County)
- Lee County Middle
- Corbin Middle (Whitley County)
Winner: Corbin Middle School, for using a greenhouse, outdoor classroom and wetland for hands-on lessons, mentoring younger students, adopting a local park, and participating in local cleanups and PRIDE’s Project Clean Streams

High School Campus of the Year Award
Finalists:
- Letcher County Central High
- Somerset High (Pulaski County)
Winner: Somerset High School, for recycling, mentoring younger students, adopting a boat ramp on Lake Cumberland, and educating the public about energy conservation

College/Community Project of the Year Award
Winner: Somerset Community College, for sharing environmental education with the community by maintaining a nature trail, wetland and outdoor classroom, hosting Earth Day celebrations, working with local schools, and partnering with the Upper Cumberland Watershed Watch Program

Tony Turner Volunteer of the Year Award
Finalists:
- Alisha Turner & Shauna Turner, Breathitt County
- Bond Pentecostal Holiness Church, Jackson County
- Ken Kinder, Pike County
Winner: Ken Kinder, for organizing cleanups along Upper Chloe Creek since 1980

Rogers-Bickford Environmental Leadership Award

- Rodney Potter, Appalachian Rural Heritage Cultural Education Initiative PRIDE Coordinator, Pike County (Posthumously)
- Cindy Ham, Somerset High School, Pulaski County
- Greg & Suzie Razmus, Tri-County Cineplex, Whitley County
Co-Winners: Jeffrey Thomas and Rodney Potter, for inspiring their communities to take personal responsibility for the environment

Kentucky PRIDE Award
