The 11th annual PRIDE Spring Cleanup will kick off at one of the region’s most spectacular scenic attractions — Cumberland Falls State Resort Park. Congressman Hal Rogers, PRIDE founder, will be on hand to rally volunteers as they clean the road through this popular site just before the busy recreation and tourism seasons begin.
The PRIDE Spring Cleanup Kickoff Celebration will be held Saturday, April 5 from 10 am until 3 pm. Parking will be at the Falls and check in will be at the gift shop.
Volunteers will pick up litter along Highway 90 in McCreary and Whitley counties, near the state park. They will be treated to a free picnic and prizes.
This will be an organized event with safe cleanup areas. Individuals and groups are encouraged to volunteer. The goal is to mobilize 300 volunteers.
Make plans now to participate. Invite your friends, family, church, coworkers or club to join you for a fun day in the great outdoors making a difference in your community!
Prizes! All volunteers will be entered in a drawing for door prizes, including: - 2 tickets to the University of Kentucky vs. University of Tennessee football game

Why Partner and Sponsor? Volunteers are valuable. To be respectful of their time, a cleanup event must run smoothly, and that requires helpful staff and well-planned logistics. Food and door prizes show volunteers their hard work was appreciated. These perks — along with the reward of a job well done — create a positive experience that keeps volunteers coming back.
That’s why partners and sponsors are valuable. By donating staff, supplies, prizes and funds, businesses and organizations are critical to the success of a large cleanup event like this.
Is this the kind of community service that your organization or business would like to be seen performing? If so, please think about becoming a partner for this or other cleanup events in your area or a sponsor for the region-wide PRIDE Spring Cleanup.
