 Kentucky Educational Television (KET) and WLJC are broadcasting PRIDE: A Decade of Difference, which follows the remarkable progress of Southern and Eastern Kentuckians in restoring their region’s natural beauty. The one-hour show looks back on the first 10 years of PRIDE, the region’s environmental cleanup and education initiative.
“If you worked with PRIDE at any point since 1997, you might see yourself in this program,” said PRIDE’s Karen Engle. “It features photos and videos from a wide variety of PRIDE activities over the years.”
“Everyone should enjoy this show,” Engle said. “It is an inspirational story of our region’s civic pride and environmental restoration.”
“You may be shocked to look back on how bad our trash problems were, just over a decade ago,” Engle warned. “But, it’s a good reminder that we need to work every day to keep our landscape beautiful. After watching the show, I hope viewers will volunteer for PRIDE Spring Cleanup Month in April.”
Producer/Director George Rasmussen combined photos and video from the PRIDE archives with reflective interviews by PRIDE champions, such as: - PRIDE Co-Founders Congressman Hal Rogers and Secretary James Bickford.
