NOTE: Scroll down for a list of PRIDE Campus of the Year Award finalists.

PRIDE invites all schools in the region to send their students in grades 4-12 on a free field trip that will change how they look at the world.

With the theme “PRIDE Needs YOUth,” the PRIDE Envi Youth Conferences will excite students about taking personal responsibility for their environment and serving their community. They will grow as students and citizens, and our region will have greater hope for a healthy, prosperous future.

The conferences are free, and lunch will be provided. PRIDE will reimburse schools for bus driver and gas expenses.

Schools can choose to attend the conference that is most convenient for them:
  • Oct. 29 – East Kentucky Expo Center, Main Street, Pikeville.
  • Oct. 30 – The Arena at the David L. Williams Southeastern KY Ag & Expo Complex, 192 Corbin Center Drive, Corbin.
The program will be the same at both events, except for the division of the Campus of the Year Awards. The East Division will be awarded in Pikeville and the West Division in Corbin.

At both events, registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. ET, and the program will run from 10:00 until 1:30 ET.

The program will kick-off with a high-energy performance by David DiMuzio, who is a world-class juggler, talented musician and powerful motivational speaker. During his show, teachers can attend a workshop about integrating environmental education into your school and sponsoring effective PRIDE Clubs.

Next, the PRIDE Elementary, Middle and High School Campus of the Year Awards will be presented. For the first time, the awards will be given in two geographic divisions. The East Division will be featured at the Pikeville conference and the West Division in Corbin. (Scroll down for a list of finalists.) New this year will be the PRIDE Teacher of the Year Awards, with one winner in each division.

After lunch, our featured speaker, Chad Pregracke, will share his inspiring true story that will show students that young people can make a big difference in the environment. As a college student, Pregracke began picking up trash along the Mississippi River by himself, and he eventually founded the nonprofit Living Lands and Waters, which has mobilized 25,000 volunteers to clean the nation’s rivers.

RSVP by Oct. 16
The limited seats will be reserved on a first come, first serve basis. Please RSVP as soon as possible and no later than Oct. 16 to Becky Calhoun at 606-677-6150 or 888-577-4339 or bcalhoun@centertech.com.
